RE: [KLBC] Doubt with nuq and 'Iv

Tremal-Naik asked:
> If I want to say:
> Which officer you have killed?

> nuq yaS DaHoHta'?
> Or I must use 'Iv instead of nuq [...]?

pagh:
: You can't really use <nuq> *or* <'Iv>. The problem is that <nuq> and <yaS>
: can't be used with a noun like this. The normal Klingon way to do this is to
: avoid asking a question entirely:
:
: yaS DaHoHta'bogh yIngu' - Identify the officer you killed.
: qama'pu' HoHta'bogh yaS yIngu' - Identify the officer who
: killed the prisoner.

For those curious, this isn't just pagh's opinion but Okrand's, which he posted
on the startrek.klingon newsgroup:

  jar DamaSqu'bogh yIngu'
  What/which is your favorite month?
("Identify the month that you very much prefer!") (st.k)

  Daq DaDabbogh yIngu'
Identify the place where you live (i.e. Where do you live?)
["Perhaps a translation such as 'Identify the place that you
live at' or 'Identify the place that you inhabit' is more
   revealing."] (st.k 7/99)

He then used it in _Klingon for the Galactic Traveller_ (which Tremal doesn't
have yet):

  nuH DaneHbogh yIngu'!
  Which weapon do you want?
("Identify the weapon that you want!") KGT
