'uSu' - from Japanese?

naDev Japan-ngan Hol Sov'a' vay'? nuq 'oS "Usu"?

I was at a Japanese restaurant and noticed that the light soy sauce
is called Usu sauce (usu-kuchi shoya). Does anyone know if this is
the origin of the /'uSu'/ sauce served with gladst?

(It's probably not an Okrandian pun, I saw the part of the script
where /'uSu'/ was first used in a previous HolQeD, but it might have
been a joke put in by the writers.)
