If they can't participate in English, they can't read TKD and
instead have an inferior dictionary (at least for the German
one), and they can't understand the audio tapes or the other
two books or HolQeD or this list's FAQ or over 95% of the
messages. Will allowing posts in German really make this list a
warm, fuzzy place for such a person? I think you overestimate
the advantages this change allows.

I suspect the policy was initiated by Krankor, who, long ago,
offered pretty much all of the meaningful advice on this list
(before ~mark got up to speed), and Krankor doesn't speak any
other languages. Most likely the list now has someone who can
respond with just about any language anyone here can come up
with (though little will be accomplished if any of you mistake
that statement to be a personal challenge).
