There is no way to predict through logic what the correct usage of a
word will be. There is little point in trying to guess. We have a
jigsaw puzzle and we don't have all the pieces. We don't try to jam
pieces we have into places they don't fit. We don't try to complete
the picture using pieces from other puzzles. We wait for Okrand to
hand us the ones we are missing. If you want to guess what might be
on a piece we don't have yet, go ahead, but don't treat it as
something that can be verified.
