Re: mu'tlheghmey Qatlh

I sent out Qob's KLBC half-corrected this morning, just skipped part
of it in a scrolldown while thinking about "the men who were eating
in the old restaurant," and forgot to go back. The most noticeable
problem is:

}> Before we celebrate our victory, we need to defeat the last enemy.
}> yay'maj wIlopDI' jagh Qav wIjeynIS.

{yay} - victory
{yay'} - be dumbfounded

{wIlopDI'} - as soon as we celebrate it, when we celebrate it
{wIloppa'} - before we celebrate it

As for the men who were eating in the old restaurant, that's pretty
knarly. We have {meQtaHbogh qachDaq} for "in a burning building,"
but {?Qe' ngo'Daq SoplI'bogh loDpu'} could conceivably mean
"in the old restaurant that the men were eating" ('ey!)
"the old restaurant where the men were eating"
"the men who were eating in the old restaurant"
but it probably doesn't.

It does mean:
"in the old restaurant the men who were eating" as in:
Qe' ngo'Daq SoplI'bogh loDpu' nuS jabwI'.

What Qob did in setting up the situation in a separate
sentence is a very good idea.

My top choice so far is:
SutwIj Huj lubuStaHvIS 'avwI'pu', Qe' ngo'Daq 'avwI' mIS'e' lutIv
SoplI'bogh loDpu'.

This places the location of their enjoyment, rather than their
eating, but they *are* the same. I put the topic marker on {mIS} to
disambiguate {'avwI' mIS} from "the confused guard" which isn't
quite the same thing.

Qermaq, mu'tlheghvam DaqontaHvIS nuq Daqel SoH?

- Qov
