SKI: A friend asked for a description of Klingon religion, and I wrote this
for him. Part 1: the gods created the Klingons, but the Klingon heart was
so strong that it burned up Heaven and killed the gods (or so Sirella said in
last week's DS9, at the wedding).

SKI: The goal of life is to achieve honor. The customs and rituals of the
Klingons help us to do so.

(One of the things I tried to do here was imagine a non-theistic religion. So
I tried to find "naturalistic" reasons for everything we might otherwise
attribute to divine action, eg. Klingons live after death not because some
god calls them to Heaven, but because they're too tough to really die, the
dishonored dead aren't sent to Grethor by a god's judgement, but because
those already dead want nothing to do with them, etc.)
