Was

Once an assassination occurs, it is no secret. But J.W. Booth did sneak in
by stealth and shoot Lincoln unaware. My point is that what an assassin
does ALWAYS involves secrecy, as opposed to a forthright challenge to
personal combat.
And there's assassination and there's

I agree! And I'm not saying that we should try to forcibly fit one word or
phrase into all situations. And that goes for any English word for which
we have no Klingon analogue. I merely think that "Secret Killer" would
work for most situations.
