Re: Klingon's Looks

A number of newcomers wrote comments leading to:

& looked the same but the T.V. quality was bad back then. You decide.

Fascinating as the topic is, English language discussion of
Klingon foreheads doesn't belong here. Please remember:
this forum is for discussion of the Klingon language in English or
discussion of absolutely anything in tlhIngan Hol. There are lots of
English languge Star Trek and Klingon groups for the other
discussions.

The newcomers may be thinking: "Give us a break, Qov! We can't write
Klingon well enough to talk about this." Sure you can. Here's
something to try translating, a challenge from Qov. See how many of
these sentences you can translate into Hol.

Thirty years ago Klingon foreheads were different.
They were smooth.
Why did Klingon foreheads change?
Did radiation or disease change Klingon bodies?
Perhaps now we see a different race.
Perhaps because of our bad display screens we could not see the
Klingons clearly.
The Klingons definitely keep this fact continously secret.

Remember:
* Use Klingon grammar, don't just look up the words and arrange them
the way they are in English.
* All the words you need for those sentences are in the dictionary.
If a word doesn't seem to be there, check the appendix, look to see
whether that word is represented by a suffix in tlhIngan Hol (for
example: 'this' and 'could'), and check also to see if one Klingon
word covers more than one of the English words (for example: 'keep
secret' and 'display screen' are each one word in Klingon).
* There is nothing you need to do for past tense in Klingon, so you
can translate this all as if it was present tense. The words for
'thirty years ago' will set it as past.
