	I'd have to disagree with your analogy.  For us English speakers,
it doesn't really matter, as we'll say "'oS" due to our built-in gutteral
stop for vowels.  Where it really matters is for the "DI" part.  If it's
<ta-DI'-oS>, the <I> will be shortened.  If <ta-DI-'oS>, it would sound
normally.
