A short explanation of the unusual noun {qa'meH} "replacement" is probably
a good idea. It means something that takes over, more or less permanently,
for something else which has been lost. Its apparent origin is quite an
interesting story, being a pair of verb suffixes which have somehow turned
into a noun: "in order to again [something]".
{qa'meH} does not refer to a temporary stand-in; that is {lIw}.
