Well, it existed before you passed through it. Okrand said
{vegh} could not be used in the instance of a bird passing
through a window if the window was closed and the bird broke
the glass in order to pass through the window. It could be used
for a bird passing through a window if the window was open.

If I blast a hole in a wall, I just made a door. Now, I can
pass through it. If the wall was weak enough for me to plow
through it without blasting first, then I'm not passing through
any door. I'm just breaking the wall.
