Reservations are probably a good idea, particularly if you want to get the
discounted rate we are getting for the qep'a'. You do NOT have to stay for the
full duration to get the discounted rate.
As of today, I am fairly confident of some twenty-five people coming, and that
number may well increase (we have over a month to go!). Not all of these people
have sent in their registration and banquet fees yet, and fewer have contacted
the hotel for reservations.
I need your registration and banquet fees as soon as possible, so I can properly
estimate how much supplies I need to purchase (and be able to pay for them), how
large a meeting space we need and how to arrange it, and to correctly inform the
hotel how much food they need for the banquet. So, if you're coming, send in
your check now!
Likewise, the hotel needs your reservations. Most of you have credit cards, so
go ahead and make the call. They will be greatly reassured when we start
filling up rooms in their hotel, and that means they'll be nicer to work with
when I start making demands (like having Klingon on the hotel's marquee). They
expect reservations to be made a month in advance, and that's drawing nearer.
I can't express how excited I am about this year's qep'a'. It promises to be an
extraordinary event. I eagerly anticipate seeing you all there.
