I realize it's only March, and that the qep'a' wejDIch is still more than four
months away, but the little annoying details that have to be taken care of are
looming considerably closer.
Specifically, I've begun negotiations with the hotel for our closing Banquet on
Saturday evening, July 20th (the 27th anniversary of the moon landing, btw).
The hotel's catering department has done a fine job on the banquet for the last
two years, but I'm trying to go for something even better this year! If our
numbers are sufficient we can meet their minimum for what they call their
"Deluxe Buffet" Dinner. This would provide a broader selection of entries and
side dishes for everyone to choose from. The one catch is there is a minimum of
30 guests required for it.
Mind you, I'm hoping we hit 30 people during the rest of the week, and often
people come to the banquet who aren't at the rest of the qep'a', so in theory 30
shouldn't be any problem. However, I don't want to commit us to that minimum if
in fact it's not going to happen (otherwise I have to pay for (and maybe even
it!) the balance.
So, if you're planning to attend the qep'a' wejDIch, please send in your banquet
fee ($30) today. This would also be a fine time to send in your registration
fee for the entire meeting ($25) or a single day ($10). Please note, if you're
just planning to come in for the banquet you do NOT pay the daily registration,
just the banquet charge.
So, bottom line: I'm trying to ensure a glorious banquet to end this summer's
qep'a' but I need to know how many people will be there. The only way you can
inform me that you will definitely be there is to reserve your seat at the
banquet by sending me your banquet fee of $30.
Thanks,
Lawrence
