Try Hebrew. No punctuation until recent times. We still read from the Torah
without punctuation, vowels, or incantation tropes. Until spoken Israeli
began reappearing in the late 19th century, Hebrew did not use the question
markers "ha-, ha:im," etc. Some question words such as "ayeh, mi, mah" asked
direct questions.
