I think in either case it seems that David felt it sounded like YOU were
trying to change the language, to force it into a mold that doesn't really
apply to it, when changes in the language really must be reserved to Marc
Okrand. It sounds like you really want to see languages conform to
certain ideals that you feel make a language better (and which are plainly
not required to make a language work, since so many existing ones work fine
doing their own thing). I suppose you can always invent your own
constructed language (which is a fun and worth-while pursuit), and maybe
you should try that. I guess it just sometimes seems as though what you're
trying to do is change someone else's.
