You misunderstand. I mean, the subject of {ja'} in those two sentences, one
of which you deleted, but which was {qaja'pu' HIqaghQo'}, is always "I". I
am referring to my examples. No matter which order you put the quotation,
the subject and object remain the same.
Sure, you could use another verb prefix. {HIqaghQo' choja'pu'} or {choja'pu'
HIqaghQo'} would be "You told me, 'Don't interrupt me!'" The point of my
post remains unchanged, though.
