I agree that that's idiomatic and ambiguous.

Hmm,. good point about changing the meaning and the situation. Still, I
think "ghoS" is more directional; it means "proceed" in the sense of
"physically move in a direction, follow a course." But how about "DaH
chay' maruch"? THAT's the "proceed" you're looking for, or close to it.
