{baS Qan DaS} has the boot protecting the metal no matter which word
you put the {'e'} on. If the metal is doing the protecting, you need
to say {DaS Qan baS}. The subject always follows the verb, even when
the addition of {-bogh} turns the sentence into a relative clause.
{DaS'e' Qanbogh baS} means "boot which is protected by metal".

{baS neH} means "metal only". Your sentence implies that the front
is protected only by metal. I think you meant that only the front
is protected by metal: {'et neH Qan baS}.
