I like Ford

Sorry I can't write this in *tlhangan Hol* yet.

I have an idea for a good book or short story, too bad I'm not an author.

Okrand pointed out that are different dialects. Klingons being aggressive
probally had several houses that came to power at different times. I think
we can agree on that. So lets put these two ideas together.

Ford does a great job at describing Klingon culture, but Okrand doen't use
any of his language (too bad). What if for many years one house had control.
The Klingons had slaves, took prisoners etc... but their language was of a
different house. Why not look how many this planet has. Maybe most of the
houses sided with one of two sides to form a greater power (republicans and
democratics only and example not a comparison). When the first house was
still in power we see Fords book.

As I said most of us love the way he describes Klingon culture. So why not
keep it as much as we can. By the end of his book though, basic Klingon
culture was changing. Hummmm someone new comming into power????? The year
games no longer included death sports. Atleast human slaves weren't (too
bad). Maybe fussions arn't as popular which is why we don't see any. After
this change the other group of houses came into power. It's possible they
have traded this position often or rarely it doesn't matter. But when the
other group came into power they brought with them their language and some
of there culture. Now they don't take prisioners, why would they need to
that don't have slave any more. Maybe even some of their words were jabs at
the other house.
Kuve - slave
quv - Honored

Kinda sounds possible. After that some individual kept some of their own
ways. We know from DS9 when Worf was going after Gilka her house had
specific dating (mating) practices. The old ways included changing your
name. K for Navy, M for marines. Some changed to fit what ever was in style
(for the greater good of the empire) and some probally honored the empire
but honored the ways of their house by comprimising. The name I have chosen
for myself is Kalos or qeyloS. You may take your pick I won't be offened by
either. Kalos may be the old way or may even be the Human (Federation) way
of spelling it, whatever. "qeyloS" is obviously the accepted way of spelling
it with most Klingons.

Two languages both probally as old as each other but one forgotten (not
used) simply because it's not in style. I thinks it's a good idea and one
that works.

If you use my idea for a book please give me credit. Besides remember the
meaning of the trifoil. Empire is above all and we don't need a civil war
over how to spell a name.

Kalos/qeyloS
