I am attempting to translate a few scenes from the novel Sarek into
{tlhIngan Hol} to help me learn how to recast sentances. The novel said
they were spoken in {Hol}, so I thought it would be fun to see them in
the original Klingon. The first scene is one between the Klingon
Ambassador, Kamarag (qa'ma'ragh), and his neice, Valdyr (valdIr),
regarding their prisoner, Peter Kirk (pItIr qerq). Heres what little
Ive got so far...
qa'ma'ragh: Sopta''a' 'ej tlhutlhta''a'?
valdIr: (nods)
qa'ma'ragh: maj. qawuvtaH, loDnI'wI' puqbe'. bIlujbe'.
Kamarag: He ate and drank?
Valdyr: (nods)
Kamarag: Good. I am depending on you, neice. Do not fail me.
I am very unsure of the use of {wuv} "depend on." I'm not sure if it
means what I used it to mean.
Next, I ran into trouble. The sentance is Make your prisoner strong and
healthy. Ive been trying every variation on this I can think of, and
no matter what I do, I cannot figure out a way to say it within Klingon
grammer and vocabulary! At first, I was trying something like {qama'lI'
HoSchoHmoH pIvchoHmoH SoH}, but that makes absolutely *no* sense, unless
Im mistaken! Adjectival verbs cant take those suffixes, right? Help!
