No, I disagree. There's a lot of stuff that comes in over the wire, and someone
has to make a decision about what to use and what not to use. However, a letter
coming in separately with just our press release doesn't have that competing
context. Further, it's another opportunity for a paper to run with it.
And I should add that this idea wasn't mine (though I think it's a good one) but
rather was suggested by a professional PR rep who's helping us out a bit.
Obviously this is an auxilary plan, it's not our main means of getting word out
to the press. The AP got a press release already, as did several other similar
services and many large papers.
Every little bit helps.
