I like Alan Anderson's suggestion for expressing the degree of
difference in a comparison, and I think his construction can be
condensed further. He offers:
> {jIH qan law' SoH qan puS. nupImmoH cha' DIS.}
> "I am more old than you. Two years cause us to be different."
> [...]
>
> {Duj Hop law' yuQ Hop puS. chuqmeyDaj pImmoH wejSanID qelI'qam.}
> "The ship is more distant than the planet. Three thousand
> kellicams cause their distances to be different."
>From here it is a short step to
cha' DISmo' jIH qan law' SoH qan puS.
Because-of two years I am older than you.
wejSanID qelI'qammo' Duj Hop law' yuQ Hop puS.
Because-of 3,000 kellicams the ship is more distant than the
planet.
