[universal translator engaged]
forgive the language switch, but i can't continue in klingon; i'm
starting to confuse myself.
basically, with my original post, i tried to add something to charghwI's
original Pentium joke. basically, his original joke translates:
Q: "How many of Intel's Pentium engineers does it take to screw in a
lightbulb?"
A: "1.9999897."
the sentence i added, as charghwI' translated, reads:
> "But as soon as Intel engineers build a device which
> is ready to replace a new lightbulb?"
ie, my joke should have translated:
Q: "How many of Intel's Pentium engineers does it take to screw in a
lightbulb after they've built a bulb-changing-machine?"
A: "256."
explaination of the joke, while i'm at it:
one of the bugs that the Pentium produces (at least some of 'em) is an
incorrect division, for one set of values, of the formula: x-[(x/y)*y]
now, anyone with a sense of algebra will see that this should equal
zero. well, on a pentium at work, and for only one value-set, i produced
the answer of 256.
*sighs*
somehow i'm not surprised to know i'm even less funny in klingon than i
am in english. 'course, i never before thought that possible.....
