I think the point to remember is that TKD is not supposed to contain the 
complete language (and a good thing too). TKD is a linguist's work book, 
detailing the grammar and vocabulary as they are pieced together with the 
help of a linguistic informant (i.e., Maltz).

Will we see another 18,000 words? I rather doubt it, and certainly not 
anytime soon.  On the other hand, if you'd asked me if the KLI would have 
grown to the size it has in such a short time, I'd have said "no" to that 
too.  It *could* happen.  Let's see what effect a Klingon Hamlet has on 
the world, that should be quite instructive.
