CK Intro

     Forgive me if this is repetitive. My mailer says the original message
did not go through, though in the past, such a message has not always proven
to be reliable.

     Amy West believes that the fourth line during the introduction to
Conversational Klingon is actually two lines. A female voice curses
{Qu'vatlh}, then a male voice adds {vaj maHegh}. She is quite certain that
this is the case.

     After hearing this suggestion, I returned to the tape, played on a nice
tape deck through decent headphones at loud volume many times, and I cannot
agree. I am equally certain that the voice throughout is that of Okrand and
it sounds much more to me like {Quv vaghvatlh} followed by two syllables I
cannot understand. I would phonetically describe it as {vaH'egh} or {vaHergh}
or maybe even {baghergh}. I could not believe that the first consonant was an
{m}.

     The only line I heard from a female voice was the earlier {lughoS chaH}.

     Could someone else listen to that introduction yet again and offer any
new suggestions? I would really appreciate it. I'm only a few synapses short
of looking up Okrand in the DC directory...
