I remembered also that there was an episode of TNG where Klingons are
heard singing an epic song/poem reenacting a mythic battle of Kaless. In
the song, which is in tlhIngan Hol, the singers all pronounced Kaless as
'kay-less'. The reason that I asked the earlier question is that the
'ess' phoneme in particular is not part of Standard tlhIngan Hol as far I
know.
