...go figure...?

I am dubious about posting this because I fear it will get to Glen
and he will see it not as a situational description but
as a personal attack.

Things are once again ...interesting, to say the least.

DISCLAIMER: This is ONLY my perception of reality, of which I may
^^^^^^^^^^ may not be fully in contact with. Glen, I suspect, has
differing perceptions of what I discribe.

First the History.
In July 1993 the first Klingon language camp was held. I was invited
to attend as a paid instructor by Glen Proechel. I offered to send
to Glen 50 copies TKD plus the CK tapes and 48 T-shirts with Klingon
themes.

About half of the books, all the tapes and all the T-shirts were sold
on consignment, these were after all my inventory.

It is no secret that that first Klingon Language camp was not a financial
success and I negotiated with Glen to wait for the end of the 1994 camp
to accept collection of those consignment sales. $700 owed.

At the time of the camp, when it was a KLI sponsored project, I decided that
the best direction offered for the future of tlhIngan Hol was with
the KLI. Shortly after the camp, negotiations between Glen Proechel and
the KLI for next years camp broke down and any future camps would
not be KLI affiliated. This limited my involvement in any of Glens
camps. 'nuf sed.

I sometime after that decided to try to start a meeting/seminar in Boise,
that would better represent the ambitions of the KLI and schedualed it
without asking Glen when his camp would be and later found out that the two
seminars/camps would happen at the same time.

My Boise Seminar didnt pan out and I succeeded in loosing about $250 for
my efforts. qay'be' <shrug>.

Because my Seminar didnt pan out and Dr. Schoen thought it was a good
idea he organized the qep'a'/Klingon Fling in Philly. I did not attend.
se la vi'.

Glens 1994 camp turned out 4 additional students from last years total and,
once again, lost money from what I hear.

When I attempted to collect the money Glen owed me, Glen mentioned 1) that
it is because of my efforts to organize a seperate camp that his camp
failed. 2) He may have to declair bankrupcy. (it was unclear
whether he ment himself or ILS) 3) Any future attempts to
collect from Glen would result in "...you and the KLI 'll be hearing form
my attourney..." NOTE: WHat we'ld be hearing form the attorney was not clear.

There is only so much I am willing to invest (in time and emotion) in this
situation and I have long sence spent it all. I am therefore considering
taking Glens advice and "writing it off." rIntaH.

With luck I will never have to post on this topic again.

pItlh.
