While I agree with you in principle, I have to disagree when it comes to
policy.  While we might prefer to have Marc go over everything (or someone
else whom we believe to be at least competent), our desires don't enter into
it. Ultimately, I believe, that we *have* to consider anything that comes
from Paramount as canon.  Admittedly, we don't have to like it, but they are
the keepers of the keys. They're the arbiters. Mind you, I have no problem
marking any lexical items or phrases from the television series as to their
source, or issuing an appropriate warning that they are probably not
consistent with the majority of the language as we have come to know it from
TKD and similar sources.  But canon? Yup, no doubt about it at all.  Sad, but
very very true.

With any luck, as the Extended Corpus Project continues, I hope we'll
document all spoken Klingon from the films and the television series, as well
as just the novels.  Dave Sturm informs me that the ECP (look a project that
doesn't start with "K") is picking up more and more interested helpers.  I'll
let you know as we make more progress.
