For those that don't like the idea of leaving "Monday" as "Monday".<br><br><br>I used to work for an auto repair shop.<br><br>I often had clients that spoke English as a second language.<br><br>They would call people on their cell to talk about their car and each conversation went something like this:<br><br>"Blah blah blah,&nbsp;catalytic converter, blah blah blah, gasket, blah blah…"<br><br><br>The 'blah' is their native tongue that I wasn't able to follow.<br><br>While their own language may or may not have words for specialized car parts; it's jargon that they weren't familiar with and they just used the English word b/c that's what they knew.<br><br><br>I heard similar conversations as a credit card collector.&nbsp;<br><br><br>While I agree that it doesn't look as neat to leave untranslated bits, it's often the best way to go.<br><br><br>Back when I was translating the Jenolan Caves tour, I came across the words stalagtite and stalagmite.<br><br><br>I'm sure Klingon splunkers have words for these.<br><br>Not knowing them, I'd be forced to use a very descriptive sentence to try and get across what the thing is.<br><br>And by the time I do that, I've probably lost and confused my listener.<br><br><span style="font-family:Prelude, Verdana, san-serif;">I wasn't happy with it; but I left it in English because it was the best way to communicate the idea at the time.<br><br><br><br>Facebook users aren't going to know where this List is.<br><br>They won't even know that is exists.<br><br>They'll flip through TKD or end up on mrklingon and they won't find what they're looking for.<br><br>If you were publishing a book, however, and were able to include a glossary; I'd accept any of the proposed words as I'd be able to look up any coinages in the back.<br><br><br>I'm not opposed to translating Monday; but I may be opposed to translating Monday on this project.<br><br><br>~'anan naHQun&nbsp;<br><br></span><span id="signature"><div style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;color: #999999;">~Michael Roney, Jr.<br>Professional Klingon translator<br>webOS developer<br><br>Sent from my 'Franken' Palm Pre 2</div></span><span style="color:navy; font-family:Prelude, Verdana, san-serif; "><hr align="left" style="width:75%"><br><br></span><br>
