see a valid reason to keep the current phrasing, though.

I know what {Dat leghlaHbe'} is intended to mean, and I want it to
mean that too, but I'm not completely sure it does. If we can negate
entire sentences with {-be'}, it's fine. Otherwise, it probably would
need to be {'op Daqmey leghlaHbe'}.

I did something in this scene that I don't
usually do. Because Klingon is so context
sensitive, I usually try to be as linear as
possible within a scene, with each action and
line of dialogue relating to the one before it.
In this one I had a fair amount of information to
impart, but everyone had different priorities so
it was unnatural to deal with one topic at a
time. Every time I rearranged it to bring someone
else's priorities to the fore, it still seemed
wrong that someone else wait to bring up their
concerns. The relationships between their ranks
and statuses--Hota'ro' and qaH'eng are lovers,
vajar outranks qaH'eng but on a different ship
and he's in her domain, qoreQ is the one who
instigated this, and the same rank as qaH'eng--
isn't enough to make anyone defer to another, the
way I sometimes force this situation. Have the
time I send someone out of the room or give them
a task to focus on, it's to prevent a confusing
babble of voices.But here I just went for it,
with a lot of questions asked without responses
and statements made that don't relate to what was
said before. I'm glad that it doesn't seem to have been confusing.
And I think I've successfully slipped in the
thing that I intended to slip by. It's really
hard to know what is screamingly obvious when you
know what's going to happen. jIlaDqa'lI'mo'
