Star Trek V has a relevant line spoken by Klaa when he is told that
the Federation is sending the Enterprise to Nimbus III:

I didn't know that canon. I saw STV twice but didn't catch that detail. I probabl thought an actor's pronunciation of 'oH'a' was audible only as -'a'. Interesting. I'm more comfortable with a verbless "echo-question" like "rIngDal loS?" than I would be tagging it with the V9, but it's a very interesting piece of canon. 


It's the only example I know of with a fragmentary noun-as-question.
It looks like he just used the interrogative verb suffix without a
verb.

You could say {lut ghoQoymoH} if you don't like {yIjatlh}. Or you
could just say {ghoja'} without mentioning {lut}.

If you're going to say {lutwIj neH Saja'} anyway, why make a big deal
out of not saying {lut ghoja'} above?


I could only hold off my natural tendency to ja' a lut for so long.

(I like {Sach} better than {tInqu'choH}, but only enough to mention it

I prefer tInqu'choH because I think she still fought SachchoHDI', and it was only when it became really cumbersome that she withdrew from the battlefield.

{-Daq} is unnecessary on this {yoS}. Reading it there, I get a sense
that I might be missing a subtle point of meaning.
jIQochbe'. I'm not sure why I sent it out with -Daq there in the first place. I may have meant to type yoSvetlh and pressed the wrong suffix activation code in my brain.
