Re: [Tlhingan-hol] Klingon Word of the Day: quHvaj

Felix Malmenbeck ([email protected])

Don't think this one reached the list, but I saw it on Twitter.

It seems safe to assume that like butlh ("dirt under the fingernails"), this is something that one can ghaj: quHvaj vIghajmo' pe'vIl jIbwIj vISay'nISmoH.

I figure quHvaj would refer to a whole collection of dandruff, making quHvajmey "dandruff scattered all about".
mIvwIj vItuQmoHHa'DI'* pa'Daq Dat quHvajmey lutu'lu'.
Anybody disagree?

*I believe this is the canonical way of putting it, although one could certainly make the argument that it should be classed as an error. tuQHa'[choH] would make a lot more sense.
