Talk to Lawrence at the KLI. There have been several detailed surveys done
as part of papers, theses and even a couple of dissertations on Klingon and
the Klingonist community. I imagine there have been a few papers published
in the linguistic literature on artificial languages. Once you have the
titles, you may be able to get copies of them via Interlibrary Loan. (In
fact, I'm sure several of us would like to have those references if you
could share them with the List. Maybe we could add them to the FAQ's
bibliography as this question comes up from time to time.)

I still have to look words and verb prefixes up occasionally. I can write

You should define what you mean by "Trekker/Trekkie": i.e. someone who
watches the TV show and movies, someone who goes to conventions, someone
who goes to conventions in costume, someone who writes articles and stories
for fan literature, etc.
