Would you mind rephrasing that? As it stands, it contradicts itself.

Until you explain *why* you are accepting some and rejecting others, and
actually tell us your opinion, it looks like you're just ignoring them
because they're not what you wanted to hear.

>You consistently and vehemently discourage any approach (i.e. mine) to
>Klingon that doesn't match your own.

If that's what it looks like to you, I suggest that your perception is
distorted. It looks like you are expecting me to understand your goals
without having had them explained to me. How can I object to your approach
when I don't know what you're aiming at? Let me know where you're coming
from!

*** sigh ***

All I'm being "vehement" about is your refusal to explain what you expect
to get out of participating here. I'm discouraging only your nearly
constant whining that Klingon isn't what you want it to be. My motivation
is not a sense of superiority, it's a sense of extreme frustration.

Look -- when you try, you write Klingon well. You are obviously good at
learning language. But when your questions start assuming things that we
don't know to be true, and you ignore people when they try to point that
out, I have no idea how to get through to you. I am not skilled in either
ESP or diplomacy; my instincts are to reach out and shake you to get your
attention. It's likely that if you revealed your goals, I would be more
able to tailor my reactions to help you meet them.

>Even if I were fluent in Klingon, my attitude
>toward it would not be different.

I can't reconcile that statement with what you have hinted of your reasons
for your provocative messages. I thought you were asking questions because
you didn't understand things. Are you honestly saying that if you were
fluent, you would still be asking questions and making unflattering
comparisons between Klingon and other languages? You would *still* be
rejecting what people say in response if it didn't match what you wanted?

Because *that* is what I perceive to be your attitude. I hope I'm wrong,
but you're not giving me an alternative.

>Most of what I say on this list is not a criticism of Klingon,

My perception is otherwise, but I will not rehash it yet again.

>but your attitude of discouragement promotes mine of criticism.

What exactly do you think I am discouraging? Let me know, so I can try to
stop triggering defensive responses from you. What exactly are you trying
to accomplish? Let me know, so I can try to help you achieve your goals.
