you're talking about {lu'}

We call this a "gluttal stop".

To practice this, one can say that {luq} is *almost* like english "look". To
say {lu'}, say the same word, but stop before you say the last sound.
It's not "loohh" but "loo(k)" -- or better: {lu'}
