"activate", "deactivate" je Danejbej.

We have a very useful phrase for this purpose from STIII:
{So'wI' yIchu'Ha'!} "Deactivate the cloaking device!"

So your phrase is probably best rendered as {wovmoHwI' yIchu'Ha'!}
"Deactivate the light!"

The only example of {SoQ} that we have, AFAIK, is from page 105 of KGT:
{Qorwagh yISoQmoH!} "Close the window!"

So, to be safe, I would use verb only for things like windows, and probably
doors and hatches.
