You're right. I think I got sensitized to the usage of verbal
suffixes recently because people have been using <-meH> to
specify things other than purpose, so I've been paying much
closer attention to suffixes than I normally would. On
second thought <chay' jIjatlhlaH X> is a perfectly sensible
way to ask the question that you wanted to ask.
