Subject: help with "Happy Birthday" phrase

"May your birthday be happy"
I don't know if a birthday can be "happy".
Based on "Klingon for the Galactic Traveler", this idea is probably
expressed as
{DuQuchjaj qoSlIj} "May your birthday make you happy."

> qoSIlj DatIvjaj

"May you enjoy your birthday"
This is the most common way I've seen it.

Another option:
When I send a b-day card, the Klingon always reads:
{qaStaHvIS qoSlIj, qavan.}"I salute you on your birthday"

'Nother one:
{qoSlIjmo', qavan} "Because of your birthday, I salute you."

> can someone please... tell me what phrase to use.

I don't know if Okrand has spoken about birthdays.
I remember hearing somewhere (one of the "Day of Honor" books, I think) that
Klingons don't celebrate birthdays.
So there may not be a "standard" way of saying this.

Also, be sure to check out:

/cards/

These are e-cards, presented by the KLI. Both of the birthday cards say
{qoSlIj DatIvjaj}.

Hope this helps,
