I'll suggest some other possibilities:
1) they weren't stupid, but rather lazy
2) they weren't stupid, they just didn't care (at least it SOUNDS Klingon)
3) it's intentional -- the comic book guy doesn't know Klingon, just thinks
he does
In earlier seasons I would have bet on 3; as it stands 2 is probably more
likely.
