Does it? Or does /peng/ mean "scattered about" when it's USED as a plural?

/peng yIbaH/ "fire a torpedo!"
(/peng/ is singular)

/peng tIbaH/ "fire (scattered?) torpedoes!"
(/peng/ may not have a plural marker on it, but the meaning is most
certainly plural. Are they scattered?)
