Yes, that would be correct. As ghunchu'wI' pointed out, a more verb-oriented
version would be {choQaHmo' qatlho'} ("I thank you because you helped me").

For the verb {yIt} ("walk"), there is no object, only a subject. So the verb
prefix that you would want here is {bI-}, instead of {Da-}.
