unsubscribing (was Re: Help)
pIj Dochqu' tlhIngan Hol ghojmoHwI'pu' 'ej jI'IQqu' ...
1) there are all kinds of good reasons good people have trouble getting
off of mailing lists. This does not make them bad, or stupid or
unworthy. It just means....
they are having trouble getting off of a mailing list
2) people who are disturbed by people asking for help don't belong on
mailing lists in the first place since it happens so often. They should
stick to less troubling forms of communication. Maybe newspapers.
Or radio.
3) *If* your mail system gives you the "headers" (on AOL they show up on
the bottom of the message, so are they "footers"?) you will see:
TO UNSUBSCRIBE: email "unsub tlhingan-hol" to [email protected]
4) *IF* that doesn't work, the administrator of the list
([email protected]) should be emailed. As worthy and sympathetic as
many of the list participants are... almost none of them have the power to
assist you.
5) For more information on the mailing list, I recommend d'Armond's
excellent FAQ:
