Re: Honor to you and your house!

: I was thinking of the phrase {batlh Daqawlu'taH} "You will be remembered
: with honor".
:
: Quvar muHwI'

Is the House extinct? Remember Kruge said this to Valkris just before he
destroyed the ship she was on, killing her because she had seen the classified
Genesis data she was transporting. (Why didn't he just beam her aboard his
Bird of Prey before blasting the Merchantman? He could have executed her
later, after interrogating her if necessary.)

For all we know, to "remember someone with honor" refers to the honored
non-warrior dead who aren't in Sto'Vo'Kor because they didn't die in glorious
combat at the hands of an enemy -- a Klingon version of "requiescat in pace"
("may s/he rest in peace") as it were. Does anyone know if Marc Okrand ever
explained at some meeting or convention what this loaded phrase is supposed to
mean in Klingon culture?
