I think I recently caught one too. "Cannon" is {tal}. Well, some of us from
the American Midwest pronounce words like *towel*, *vowel* to rhyme with
*pal*, *gal*, *Al*, *Sal*, etc. And what is a particular commercial brand of
towel? You guessed it -- Cannon!
Admittedly the Klingon vowel is different (TKD 1.2: "as in English {psalm},
never as in American English {crabapple}"), but it's close enough to make a
connection.
