To follow up on Qov's response - the Bible translations done by the KBTP
which might be available are worth looking at - but are they available to
the general public yet? Perhaps on the FTP site? I'd love to peek at them
too...
The Proechel Gospel translations - I was just looking at them last night, in
fact, a gift from my mother some years ago - are, in my opinion, terrible. I
really don't like them at all. I would not waste time on them - your mileage
may vary.
Hamlet is sold out, isn't it? Maybe Lawrence has a couple of copies left -
if so, GET IT. Collecter's item, you know. And a fine translation -
especially the play in the play, which is in blank verse AND rhymes. Really
try to get this. (I have not read the Proechel translation myself, but I
have not been told anything particularly good about it.)
There is of course the time-honored tradition of printing out an email of a
long post from a skilled speaker/writer and translating that. Or go to the
archives and pick a year and month at random. Find a post from a good
tlhIngan Hol lo'wI' and translate it. Then find the follow-ups to the post
and translate them.
(Look especially for Qov's stories in 1996 and 1997. She'll provide more
