We are currently in the process of designing an institutional seal for the KLI
(don't ask why, it's too strange a story). All your great learning institutions
have them, and they also have a spiffy motto too. We'll handle the seal part,
but I thought I'd open up the motto to you folks and get your ideas.
So, just to make it interesting, I thought I'd offer a prize, something you
cannot normally buy. Whoever submits the winning motto will receive a copy of
Okrand's CONVERSATIONAL KLINGON on CD. This CD version is not sold separately,
it is (as far as I know) only available when you purchase the EMISSARY GIFT SET
(some of you may recall a thread about this some weeks back). It's the same
material as on the CK audio cassette (and even tells you to turn the "tape" over
halfway through) but for you collectors it's still a nice thing to have.
Okay, here are the rules:
1. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED IN BOTH KLINGON AND ENGLISH.
2. ALL ENTRIES SHOULD BE PITHY (IN KLINGON) AND BRIEF (IN ENGLISH).
3. ALL ENTRIES ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO [email protected], AND CONTAIN THE WORD
"CONTEST" IN THE SUBJECT HEADER.
4. ALL ENTRIES BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE KLINGON LANGUAGE INSTITUTE.
I think that's everything, both to describe what we need and to satisfy the
lawyers.
