Shakespeare - How?

1) There is no REAL answer.... however

2) Vonda McIntyre's book "_First_Enterprise_", a great book dealing
with Kirk taking command of the Enterprise gives us a hint. [NOTE:
I really think this is a coincidence, but it is good.]

The story has the Enterprise transporting a troop of neo-vaudevilians
(sp?) on a goodwill tour through various outposts. One member is an
extremely hammy old actor who rewrites Shakespeare in a dreadful
manner. HOWEVER, when the crew and troupe encounter Klingons, and a
performance is done for them, the old actor finds his greatest
audience. They *LOVE* him, and cannot fathom why the Federation
people dislike him so. At the end of the story he goes off with them
for a tour of the Empire. *PERHAPS* this is how Shakespeare made it
to the Empire?
