I have been informed that there was an 'incident' between a 'seasoned'
user and a mebbie.
Knowing the seasoned user, (and admitting bias, likeing him) and having
just experienced some extreme rudeness from mebbies, I thought I would
add my words to the 'controversy.'
As a newbie I operated with the understanding that as there were those
who came before I my behaviour would be respectfully, and follow their
lead as to what was acceptable, not acceptable and how users spoke with
and confronted each other.
When I saw two users in a pa' I would page before coming, when I entered
the bar and saw persons in conversation, whether in English or not, I
did not interrupt.
If I greeted and the persons did not respond I would take myself some
place else as over time one developes friendships so that whether in
tlhIngan or English conversations may be personal.
