I am not a Grammarian, but I can make some suggestions. You are correct to
put the word Duj in front of the ships name <Duj QeHjo'> although when the
sentence is formed it sounds awkward to say "Ship QeHjo'", so you might be
better off to just say "QeHjo". As for how to say that you were an
engineer on the QeHjo', I would suggest:
QeHjo'Daq jItoy'DI' jonwI' jIH
(When I served on the QeHjo', I was an engineer.)
On the other hand I am not sure if the verb toy' is necessarily transitive
or not, so it might be safer to say:
QeHjo' vItoy'DI' jonwI' jIH
(When I served the QeHjo', I was an engineer.)
That should work.
