Likely it would. At least let him learn English properly before confusing him
with a language which in reality is nobody's first language. Same as, Linnaeus
the botanist was Swedish and born and raised in Sweden, but because of a
fashionable classicism and leardnedness so much Latin was spoken in his
childhood household that he learned to speak Latin before he learned Swedish!
